Let me Reintroduce Myself

It’s been a decent while and I’ve gotten a ton of new followers, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself!

My name is Jauna (Ja-Nae) Palin and I am based out of the Bitterroot Valley (South of Missoula). I was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana and spent most summers in the eastern part of the state – Wibaux! You can say I’m a Montana girl through and through!

My love of photography started at a very young age with a Barbie camera. You know, one of the disposable film cameras that you didn’t get back after developing – It also produced a small Barbie picture in the lower right hand corner of the pictures 😀 I was completely devastated when I didn’t get my camera back! I started to mess with my mom’s 35 mm film camera and from there got my own point and shoot. I was the one in the group you could always count on to take pictures.

I have a wonderful husband (Justin) who some times helps me on shoots. That happens less these days because he takes care of our daughter but he helps where he can. Our daughter is my featured model and she is becoming more intrigued with my camera every day! We also have two dogs – Shelby (Black Lab) and Sapphire (Pembroke Welsh Corgi – Tri-colored), one orange cat – Maverick, and a slew of chickens. So, when I say I’m an animal lover – I think that’s an understatement. I love not only our animals but I love working and taking pictures of them!

As for other aspects of my life, I have two bachelor degrees – One in Mathematics and One in Statistics. I also have worked in various jobs from statistics, accounting, to IT development.

You can find more interesting facts about me on my website: https://jpalinphotography.com/about/

I appreciate all of you and look forward to capture more memories in the future!

A month of Goals — January 2021

I started the year out with many goals. First one being picking up my camera some more for fun! I was gifted some great accessories around the holiday season and I wanted to try them out! Second was to post at least month on my blog — check back regularly to keep me accountable. Thirdly to just grow — not only as a person but my business. I’m looking forward to branching out and build on my skills!

In picking up my camera more this month, I captured some great moments! Forcing myself to get out even in the worst of conditions was a GREAT challenge. I loved being able to play around without the pressure. Goals are there to push you and make you better. Pushing myself to take pictures in less than ideal situations was a great start to the new year. I am looking forward to what 2021 has to bring!

This was one of my favorite pictures from the month and it was the top picture on my Instagram account for January as well! The picture came from one cloudy night, with a short sunset that burned the sky — In a manner of minutes these colors and clouds had disappeared into the night!
